KARACHI: Chairman of Karachi Grand Alliance, Aslam Khan, addressed a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, highlighting the severe impact of organized crime on Karachi’s citizens. Khan asserted that Karachi’s residents are being exploited by mafia elements controlling key city institutions such as Karachi Electric, KMC, KDA, and MDA. He described these mafias as systematically looting the public and causing widespread distress.
During the conference, Khan praised journalists as wielders of a powerful pen, equating their role to that of a sword. He stressed that Karachi Grand Alliance is committed to pursuing these mafias relentlessly and vowed that collective protests would soon be organized to challenge the corrupt system and mafia activities.
Khan made a formal appeal to the President of Pakistan, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, and Chief Minister Sindh, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, to take immediate action. He urged the dismissal of corrupt officials in the MDA, including Najmuddin Sahto, Irfan Baig, and Laiq Ahmed. Khan called for an investigation based on merit and demanded that the rightful employees of the MDA be given their due rights. The Karachi Grand Alliance remains steadfast in its mission to expose and rectify the corruption plaguing the city, emphasizing the critical need for transparency and accountability in Karachi’s governance.
