KHAIRPUR: The Leaders Students Society at the Institute of International Relations and Peace Studies held its 5th Scholar Extension Series in Khairpur, focusing on “From Concepts to Contemporary Realities: Understanding International Relations in the 21st Century.” The event brought together students, faculty and scholars for a discussion on the evolving dynamics of global politics.

Guest speaker Ms Shahar Bano Soomro delivered a detailed lecture linking classical international relations theories with contemporary global challenges. She explored shifting power structures, global governance, emerging conflicts and the growing role of non-state actors, providing students with a deeper understanding of modern international affairs.

The session was presided over by Ishrat Ali Mirani, who praised the initiative for broadening students’ intellectual horizons and encouraged them to engage actively with global issues and strengthen analytical skills. He also commended Ms Soomro for her expertise and contribution to the informative session.
An interactive question-and-answer segment highlighted the students’ keen interest and active participation. The event concluded with thanks to the guest speaker, presiding guest, faculty members and students for making the 5th Scholar Extension Series a success.
The series continues to serve as an important academic platform for critical dialogue and understanding of international relations in a rapidly changing world.
