SUKKUR: Khairpur police recovered 34 stolen mobile phones and arrested two suspects, while three more dacoits surrendered amid the ongoing Nijat-e-Mehran operation aimed at restoring law and order in the Katcha areas.
At a press conference, ASP Abdullah Afzal and SHO Shah Hussain of PS Abdul Ghaffar Phulpoto said the phones were recovered from shopkeeper Shahzad Sheikh in Mitho Marri using secret information and modern technology. The arrested suspect disclosed the names of accomplices, leading to the arrest of Abdul Hayee Phulpoto and Hamadullah Sheikh. Police continue raids to apprehend another accused, Umair Sheikh. Three FIRs were registered under FIR No. 92/2026 U/S 397 23(1)a.
Separately, three notorious criminals—Ghazi Khan Marri, Yasin Ahmed Narejo, and Hanif alias Hanfu Gopang—surrendered to Khairpur police. DIG Larkana/Sukkur Nasir Aftab Pathan and SSP Khairpur Dr. Samiullah Soomro said the surrender followed increasing pressure from the ongoing operation and urged remaining criminals to surrender or face consequences.
Officials emphasized that the operation will continue until criminal elements are fully neutralized and law and order are completely restored in the Katcha areas, underscoring their commitment to public safety.
