PESHAWAR: Reacting to the federal government’s decision to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur dismissed the move as a ‘joke’. Gandapur criticized the federal government, accusing it of stealing the mandate and coming into power through rigging. He questioned the legitimacy of a government that, in his view, is based on fraudulent electoral practices and Form-47.
Describing the federal government’s attempt to ban PTI as mere wishful thinking, Gandapur asserted that the incumbent government lacks the capability to compete with Imran Khan and PTI in the political arena. He criticized the government’s tactics, labeling them as regressive and fascist, and emphasized that decisions affecting 250 million people cannot be made arbitrarily.
Gandapur referenced recent Supreme Court decisions on reserved seats, suggesting that the government is displeased with judicial rulings it does not agree with. He accused the government of historically attacking the Supreme Court and expressed confidence that upcoming decisions, including those from election tribunals, would further undermine the government’s position.
Meanwhile, Information and Public Relations Advisor Barrister Saif commented on the situation, stating that the purported ‘London plan’ has failed. He cautioned the public to watch for attempts by individuals, including references to Nawaz Sharif, to evade accountability under the pretext of health issues. Barrister Saif highlighted the impact of recent court decisions on the government’s legitimacy and predicted that future tribunal rulings would expose electoral irregularities alleged by PTI.
In conclusion, both Gandapur and Barrister Saif underscored their resolve to resist what they perceive as government overreach and emphasized the impending challenges the federal government faces in maintaining its authority.
