PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs Department has finalised preparations for the Ruet-i-Hilal meeting to sight the moon of Ramazan 1447 AH, following a high-level review chaired by the provincial secretary.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Auqaf Department, Information Department, Rescue 1122, and police to review administrative, security, and media arrangements ahead of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee’s visit to Peshawar on February 18 (29th Sha’ban).
Officials confirmed that the chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, along with 21 members, will visit the Auqaf office to conduct the formal moon sighting session. Measures including bomb disposal clearance, CCTV installation, drone surveillance, and full police security will be implemented, with the final security plan scheduled by February 16.
Rescue 1122 will deploy ambulances, fire vehicles, and emergency staff, while the Auqaf Department will handle venue management, seating, and press arrangements. The Meteorological Department projected the Ramazan moon to be born on February 17 at around 5pm, with high chances of visibility on the evening of February 18.
All departments have been directed to coordinate closely to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of the Ruet-i-Hilal proceedings, with full media coverage planned through print and electronic outlets.
