DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, held a meeting with a delegation of the Central Traders Association of Dera Ismail Khan, led by President Suhail Ahmed Azmi, at the Governor House. The discussions focused on electricity load-shedding, infrastructure projects, and other key concerns of the business community.
Traders highlighted that electricity load-shedding in the city has reached 18–20 hours daily, despite minimal electricity theft in commercial areas. Taking note of the issue, Governor Kundi immediately contacted the Chief Executive of PESCO to convey the association’s concerns.
The delegation also raised the absence of permanent buildings for NADRA and the State Bank of Pakistan in the division, delays in the completion of the Indus Highway from Proa to Taunsa, Dera Ghazi Khan and Kashmore, and disruptions in the supply of flour from Punjab. The Governor confirmed he had discussed the flour supply issue with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and efforts are underway to resume deliveries promptly.
Governor Kundi highlighted upcoming development initiatives, including the Chashma Lift Canal project, the Dera Ismail Khan Airport, and the SIUT Hospital for kidney transplants—a project launched under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He also announced approval for a Danish School in Dera Ismail Khan, aimed at providing quality education to deserving students.
The delegation comprised Mahmood Khan, Muhammad Arshad Baloch, Muhammad Ismail Awan, Muhammad Khan Niazi, Sher Muhammad Mehsud, Haseebullah, Haji Amanullah, Muhammad Irfan Baitani, and Haji Ghulam Subhani.
