PESHAWAR: A representative delegation from the Grand Jirga Circle Kundian, led by Qayyum Khan Kundi, called on the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, at the Governor House in Peshawar.
The delegation included President of Grand Jirga Circle Kundian Rafi Kundi, retired principal Saleem Khan, Rehmatullah Kundi, Shah Nawaz Khan, Malik Azeem Khan and other local notables.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the governor on various issues facing Circle Kundian. They demanded the timely completion of the Tank-Pezu Road, construction of a shortcut road from CPEC Yarik to Darki, utilisation of gas royalty funds in consultation with the Jirga, and provision of gas facilities to the local population.
Issues related to electricity, including replacement of worn-out wires and improvement of power supply, were also discussed. Speaking to the delegation, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that the development of Dera Ismail Khan and the wider Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region had always been among his top priorities.
The governor said the construction of roads would significantly improve regional development and assured the delegation that he would take up the matter with the concerned authorities. He added that instructions were being issued to officials of the National Highway Authority for the construction of the shortcut road from CPEC Yarik to Darki.
Kundi emphasized that gas royalty funds were the rightful property of the people of the area and assured that their utilisation would be transparent, while priority would also be given to providing gas connections to local residents.
