KARACHI: The University of Karachi (KU) held a meeting of its Postgraduate Admission Committee on Tuesday to discuss the second intake for PhD programs across various faculties, centers, and institutes.
The meeting was chaired by KU Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, while Director of the Postgraduate Admission Committee, Professor Dr Anila Amber Malik, briefed participants on the second PhD intake across multiple departments, centers, and institutes on campus.
Members were informed that the admission form, prospectus for the 2025 second intake, entrance test form, and fee voucher could be downloaded from the university website from 8 December 2025. Candidates were required to submit the completed entrance test form, academic documents, and a paid fee voucher to their respective departments, centers, or institutes by 15 December 2025.
Professor Dr Anila Malik urged candidates to carefully review the prospectus before submitting their forms and stressed that the Karachi University Entrance Test (KUET) 2025 was mandatory for all applicants. The list of candidates eligible to appear in KUET 2025 was scheduled to be published on the KU website on 24 December, with admit cards to be collected from respective departments on 26 December.
The KUET 2025 second intake test was set to take place on Sunday, 28 December 2025, at 10:00 am, with candidates advised to arrive at their examination centers at least 30 minutes early. Applicants were required to bring their admit cards and CNIC, and the list of successful candidates was expected to be announced on the KU website on 5 January 2026.
The meeting was attended by KU Registrar Professor Dr Imran Ahmad Siddiqui, deans of faculties including Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Management and Administrative Sciences, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Islamic Studies, as well as professors Dr Asma Manzoor, Dr Basit Ansari, Dr Intikhab Ulfat, Dr Uzma Ashiq, and Dr Tasser Ahmed Khan.
