KARACHI: The University of Karachi’s Department of Public Administration hosted the inaugural session of its intellectual program “Hum Nashist,” organized by the Wisdom Therapy Center. The initiative aims to pass on local wisdom, practical experiences, and life-learned insights to the younger generation through dialogue rather than formal lectures.
The program encouraged participants to reflect on personal growth, accountability, and the pursuit of purpose in life. Chief guest Professor Dr Syed Shabib Ul Hasan, former Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University and acting chairperson of KU’s Department of Public Administration, stressed the importance of self-awareness and perseverance. He noted that success is a continuous journey, enriched when shared with companions, and emphasized the sacred responsibility of teaching, describing it as “the profession of the Prophets.”
Addressing the youth, Dr Hasan urged them to take pride in their traditions, values, and the Urdu language, incorporating it as a core part of their identity. Participants described the session as thought-provoking and inspiring, expressing hope for more such gatherings to preserve local intellectual and moral heritage.
Dr Mustafa Hyder, organizer from KU’s Wisdom Therapy Center, highlighted that platforms like “Hum Nashist” are crucial for fostering serious dialogue, intellectual guidance, and the promotion of positive values, adding that these sessions will be held regularly to continue shaping informed and responsible future generations.
