KHYBER: A delegation from Landi Kotal, led by President of the Khyber Political Union, Murad Hussain Afridi, visited the Governor House in Peshawar and held an important meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to discuss the key issues and challenges faced by the local population.
The delegation included Tehsil Chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari, Shahid Shinwari, Malik Khalid, Malik Abdul Razaq, Malik Masal Khan Shinwari, Malik Tajuddin Shinwari, Akhtar Ali Shinwari (President of Landi Kotal Welfare Organization), Yusuf Afridi, Zakir Shinwari, Saeed Shinwari, Sattar Afghan, Gul Dad Shah Afridi, Maulana Aqib, Maulana Azimullah, Hamid Afridi, Abdul Rauf Shinwari, and Hasan Shinwari, along with other political, social, and tribal elders.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted pressing issues in Landi Kotal, including economic difficulties caused by the closure of the Torkham border, prolonged electricity load-shedding, inadequate education and healthcare facilities, problems in BISP centers, and other basic public service challenges. Formal requests were submitted to the governor seeking solutions to these issues.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi assured the delegation that matters concerning the Torkham border, NADRA, TESCO, and other relevant issues would be taken up with the federal government immediately. He emphasised that practical steps would be taken to address public problems and reiterated that the development of tribal districts and the provision of basic facilities to residents remain top priorities for the government.
