LANDI KOTAL: The Landi Kotal police successfully solved a blind murder case that occurred at the Landi Kotal football ground, leading to the arrest of the primary suspect along with the murder weapon—a pistol. The crime was motivated by a personal dispute involving women. The incident took place at the government high school ground within the jurisdiction of Landi Kotal police station, where Lavid Shah, son of Jan Muhammad and a resident of Fatimi Khel, was shot by an unknown assailant. Shah sustained injuries from the attack and later succumbed to them.

A case (No. 143) under section 324 was registered at the Landi Kotal police station following the report filed by the victim’s brother on August 18, 2024. District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal took immediate notice of the incident and formed a special investigative team, led by SP Investigation Khyber, Rooh-ul-Amin. The team employed modern scientific techniques in their investigation and eventually identified the true culprit.

SHO Landi Kotal Adnan Afridi, along with other officers, apprehended the suspect, Muhammad Nawaz, son of Samandar Khan, a resident of Mukhtar Khel, Landi Kotal. The murder weapon, a pistol, was also recovered during the arrest. During the preliminary interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, admitting that the motive was a personal dispute involving women. Muhammad Nawaz has been placed in custody for further investigation. DPO Khyber lauded the efforts of Investigative Officer Sultan Raza, SHO Adnan Afridi, and the entire police team for their excellent investigative work in solving the case.
