KHYBER: A key consultative meeting of the Khyber Political Alliance was held at the Landi Kotal District Press Club, bringing together workers from various political parties alongside elders from the provincial and former tribal districts.

The meeting was attended by a wide range of political and community figures, including Shah Hussain Shinwari, Murad Hussain Afridi, Mufti Ijaz Shinwari, Haji Zarbullah, Maulana Shoaib, Sajid Afridi, Hameesh Shinwari and Fazlur Rehman Afridi, among others.

Participants held detailed discussions on the problems facing Landi Kotal, focusing in particular on the acute lack of facilities in hospitals, negligence in medical treatment, the non-completion of clean drinking water schemes, excessive electricity load-shedding, dilapidated roads and persistent education-sector issues. Speakers warned that the absence of basic services had made everyday life extremely difficult for local residents and was deepening public frustration.

During the consultation, agreement was reached to accelerate the activities of the alliance, to highlight public grievances more effectively and to pursue a joint struggle for their resolution. Participants pledged that the alliance would raise a strong voice at every available forum to protect public rights.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was unanimously decided to authorise the alliance’s president, Murad Hussain Afridi, to convene a joint session of the presidents and general secretaries of all political parties. The aim, participants said, would be to further energise the organisation and to draw up a comprehensive roadmap for the future, allowing for an effective strategy to address the area’s long-standing public problems.
