SUKKUR: The sixth convocation of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana was held at the university’s main campus, where 230 male and female students were awarded degrees. The event saw the participation of several prominent educational figures, including Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nusrat Shah, Vice Chancellor of Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur Professor Dr. Thamina Nagaraj, and Vice Chancellor of The University of Larkana Professor Usman Kerio.
A total of 23 medals were distributed to recognize the academic achievements of the students, with a notable gender disparity in the awardees: only two medals were given to male students, while 21 medals were conferred upon female students. Among the most distinguished students were Dr. Sakshi Bajaj, Dr. Iram Murtaza, and Dr. Sana Noor, who were awarded gold medals for their exceptional performance in MBBS, with Dr. Bajaj securing the first, Dr. Murtaza the second, and Dr. Noor the third positions from Batch 47 of Chandka Medical College, Larkana.
The convocation also celebrated achievements from other educational institutions under the university’s umbrella. From Batch 16 of Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College Sukkur, Dr. Taslim Nawaz, Dr. Venti, and Dr. Aqsa received first, second, and third positions, respectively. In Batch 9 of Bibi Asifa Dental College Larkana, Dr. Nandita, Dr. Jawaria Parveen, and Dr. Arica earned top honors. Additionally, from Batch 2 of the Institute of Pharmacy, Dr. Rafia Habib, Dr. Rida Fatima, and Parthna Rani received accolades.
