QUETTA: In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering young women, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti distributed 50 scooties to female students through a lottery-based system. Speaking at the event, Bugti underlined his commitment to fostering gender equality and supporting the educational and professional aspirations of women in the province.
The pink scooties, designed for ease of use and safety, are part of a broader program to enhance women’s mobility and independence in a traditionally conservative region. Bugti pledged to expand such initiatives in the future, recognizing the transformative role they play in creating a more equitable society.
During the event, the chief minister also addressed issues of governance, reaffirming his administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and opportunities for the youth, stressing the need for innovative solutions to longstanding challenges in Balochistan.
The distribution ceremony marks a step forward in promoting women’s empowerment, with students expressing gratitude for the government’s efforts. The initiative reflects a growing recognition of the importance of investing in women’s education and independence for the province’s progress.
