LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued a strong appeal to the international community on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, calling for immediate action to end the longstanding plight of Palestinians. In her message, she reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestinian self-determination, rooted in the principles laid down by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of global intervention to halt the escalating violence and systematic oppression faced by Palestinians under Israeli occupation. She highlighted the courage and resilience of the Palestinian people, who continue to struggle for their fundamental rights despite decades of suffering. She called upon world leaders to honor their moral and legal obligations under international law to resolve the issue and bring justice to Palestine.
The chief minister reaffirmed that Pakistan stands firmly with Palestine and will continue to raise its voice for their cause at all international forums. She also praised the efforts of humanitarian organizations working tirelessly to alleviate the hardships of Palestinians, especially in the face of worsening humanitarian crises in Gaza and the West Bank.
Maryam’s message comes at a time when global tensions surrounding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict have intensified, with renewed calls for a two-state solution gaining traction. The day also saw solidarity events and protests in several Pakistani cities, where citizens demanded immediate action against the atrocities being committed in Palestine.
