TIRAH: In an important jirga with local elders and leaders of Tirah, Brigade Commander of 27 Brigade issued a stern warning about a large-scale military operation against terrorists in the region. He emphasized that the local population would need to be relocated to safer areas for a few days during the operation, which is expected to target terrorist hideouts.
The Brigade Commander highlighted the necessity of public cooperation during the operation, urging residents not to engage in any hostilities against the terrorists but to support security forces. Temporary check posts will be established, and the public’s assistance will be critical in maintaining order.
A member of the jirga, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the houses of suspected terrorist collaborators in the region could be demolished or burned, with local elders instructed not to intervene. Furthermore, the jirga was informed that drone strikes might be launched in areas identified as terrorist strongholds. The commander advised the public to keep their children and young people away from these areas to avoid any potential harm.
