DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Residents of Dera Ismail Khan city, particularly in the Dyal Road area and surrounding neighborhoods, are grappling with severe disruptions to daily life due to persistently low gas pressure, officials and local consumers reported.
Households have struggled to carry out basic tasks such as preparing breakfast and other meals, despite scheduled gas load-shedding, with many claiming that the supply remains inadequate even during their allotted hours.
According to residents, the pressure from the main gas source has dropped to such low levels that very little gas reaches domestic connections, creating frustration and hardship for families across the affected areas.
Local citizens described the situation as a serious inconvenience, pointing out that the disruption is not limited to a few homes but affects large sections of the city.
Community members have appealed directly to senior officials at Sui Gas Lahore, including the Managing Director, Senior General Manager, and Deputy Managing Director, urging them to take immediate notice and implement measures to restore consistent supply.
They stressed that timely intervention is essential to prevent further hardship, particularly for vulnerable households who rely on gas for cooking and heating.
The ongoing gas shortage in Dera Ismail Khan highlights broader challenges in the distribution and management of energy resources in the province, raising concerns about infrastructure capacity and the need for coordinated responses from utility providers to ensure reliable service for residents.
Without swift action, citizens warn, the prolonged supply issues could continue to disrupt daily routines and strain community resilience.
