DADU: Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) Health Services Hospital in Jamshoro launched a week-long Gynecology and Obstetrics Surgical Camp on Monday, aimed at providing comprehensive healthcare services to women. The camp is scheduled to run from 1 to 6 December, offering free medical examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures.
The Vice-Chancellor of LUMHS, Prof. Dr Ikram Din Ujjan, visited the camp on its opening day, meeting patients and reviewing the medical services being provided. He noted that specialists from multiple medical departments were actively participating in the initiative to ensure women received timely and accessible care.
The camp offered detailed women’s health assessments, antenatal check-ups, ultrasound services, endocrine evaluations, treatment for gynecological disorders, CTG monitoring, infertility assessment and management, as well as surgical procedures for uterine and ovarian conditions.
On the first day alone, more than 200 patients from various age groups were examined. Diagnostic tests—including HbA1c, blood sugar, uric acid, LDL, ECG, and echocardiography—were provided entirely free of charge.
Prof. Dr Nusrat Nisar, Dr Rohi Ikram, Dr Maryam Fulfuto, and Dr Uzma said the camp aimed to deliver quality healthcare to women, particularly those from remote areas, ensuring they had access to a full range of medical services under one roof. They emphasised that the initiative was part of LUMHS’s ongoing commitment to improving women’s health and well-being.
