Social Banquet in Houston Raises Significant Funds for Maawan Foundation’s Efforts to Improve Public School Education in Pakistan (Catchline)

HOUSTON: A social banquet was held in the American city of Houston to raise funds for Moawin Foundation, a non-governmental organization committed to improving the quality of education in Pakistan’s public schools. The event was attended by prominent members of the Pakistani-American community, who generously donated to support the cause. The evening’s proceedings were overseen by popular actress Sanam Jung, while the guest of honor was Pakistani-American journalist and columnist, Wajahat Ali.
The foundation, known for its dedication to providing students with quality education as well as modern skills, has made significant strides since its inception. Speaking at the event, Wajahat Ali praised Maawan Foundation’s efforts, emphasizing that its work is crucial for equipping Pakistan’s new generation with contemporary education and training. He highlighted the foundation’s importance in fostering educational progress in Pakistan, adding that its mission is both timely and commendable. Asif Sandeela, a retired admiral of the Pakistan Navy and the founder of Moawin Foundation, shared the journey of the organization, noting its humble beginnings with just two schools.
Over the past decade, that number has grown to 286 schools, marking a significant expansion in its reach and impact. Sandeela expressed pride in the foundation’s progress and its pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape in Pakistan. Actress Sanam Jung, who hosted the event, voiced her pride in being part of an initiative dedicated to enhancing the quality of education in Pakistan. She expressed her admiration for the foundation’s ongoing efforts to bring about meaningful change in the country’s education system.
