KARACHI: Malir Police, in collaboration with the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), successfully rescued a kidnapped child in the Muro area on 18 December 2025. The incident took place in Sector 20C under the jurisdiction of Shah Latif Town police, where three-year-old Zain, son of Abubakar, had been abducted by unidentified assailants who moved him out of Karachi.

Following the report, Malir Police immediately launched an operation under the special directives of SSP Malir Dr Abdul Khaliq, forming separate teams to locate and recover the child. Investigations revealed that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom exceeding PKR 20 million from the family.

Drawing on confidential and technical intelligence, police conducted a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of a key suspect, identified as Asif. The child was safely recovered from the Muro area and returned to his parents under protective measures.

A case under sections 365-A and 363 of the Pakistan Penal Code, FIR No. 1971/2025, was registered at Shah Latif Town police station following the parents’ complaint. The family praised Malir Police and CPLC for their prompt response and professional handling of the case. Further investigations remained ongoing, with police continuing raids to apprehend other suspects involved in the kidnapping.
