SUKKUR: Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Muhammad Ali Malkani, inaugurated the “Socio-Culture, Agricultural Finance Mela” at Degree College Sujawal, an event jointly organized by the State Bank of Pakistan, Sindh Bank, and other financial institutions to support farmers with low-interest loans, fostering agricultural development and poverty alleviation in the region.
Addressing the gathering alongside MPA Rehana Leghari, Deputy Commissioner Zahid Hussain Rind, Chief Manager of the State Bank Rizwan Khalil Shamsi, and SSP Dr. Abdul Khaliq Pirzada, Malkani underscored the importance of such initiatives in boosting Sindh’s agricultural economy.

Malkani also highlighted the role of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in promoting Sindh’s livestock and fisheries products on a global scale. He pointed out the recurrent natural disasters affecting Sujawal every two years, stressing the need for targeted efforts in the district. He urged NGOs and aid agencies to focus on improving education and healthcare in the region.
Sindh Bank Deputy CEO Syed Asad Ali Shah and Sindh Enterprises Development Fund CEO Khizr Pervez shared insights into loan accessibility, climate challenges in agriculture, and capacity-building programs. Deputy Commissioner Zahid Hussain Rind was presented with a shield in recognition of his efforts in organizing the event.
