KARACHI: The matriculation examinations in Karachi, originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 7 April, have been postponed.
Ghulam Hussain, chairman of the Karachi Matriculation Board, announced that the final examinations will now commence on Friday, 10 April. He said the decision was made in the best interest of students across the city, ensuring they are better accommodated.
The Controller of Examinations for the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) explained that the board is transitioning from a manual system to a digital one. The increased volume of data has temporarily overloaded the software, leading to technical faults and prompting the emergency decision to reschedule the exams.
Earlier, the Karachi Matriculation Board had announced that schools could collect students’ admit cards from the board on Monday, 6 April, upon presenting an official authority letter. According to the BSEK, the cards can be collected from the conference hall of the board, located in the first building block B, from 9 am onwards.
