KARACHI: Karachi’s mayor, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, has paid tribute to Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on his 149th birth anniversary, laying a floral wreath at the Mazar-e-Quaid on behalf of the city’s residents.

In a message marking the occasion, Wahab congratulated the nation and the people of Karachi, saying that the city held a unique honour as the birthplace and final resting place of Jinnah. He said Jinnah’s leadership, wisdom and unwavering resolve in the Pakistan movement had enabled the creation of an independent state.

Wahab described Jinnah as a towering leader not only for Pakistan but for Muslims around the world, adding that he confronted every challenge with foresight and determination. He said Jinnah’s selfless leadership remained a guiding light for the country.

The mayor said Karachi and Pakistan could only move forward on the path of development by adopting the principles laid down by Jinnah, urging citizens to draw inspiration from the founder’s life and vision.
