MEHAR: A large spiritual gathering was held at Masjid Faizan Lorhai in Mehar to mark the completion of the Holy Quran during Tarawih prayers led by Hafiz Shafeeq-ur-Rehman Qambrani.
Religious scholar Allama Ali Hassan Panhwar Hussaini addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the Holy Quran and the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan. He said the Quran provided complete guidance for humanity and urged Muslims to lead their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
Special prayers were offered for the country to overcome its difficulties, for the safety of the nation and for peace and prosperity in Sindh.
Naat reciters also presented devotional poetry in praise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which was warmly received by the audience.
Among those present were Muhammad Qasim Sheikh, Ashfaq Ahmed Channa, Khaliq-ur-Rehman Soomro, Abdul Rehman Qambrani, Asad Ali Soomro, Jameel Ahmed Solangi, Ibrahim Solangi, Ibrahim Kunbhar, Toufeeq Jhatial, Peeral Tunio, Masroor Ahmed Solangi and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani, along with a large number of local residents.
Later, a separate protest was held at the National Press Club Mehar by a resident of village Taj Muhammad Zardari near Radhan, Muhammad Ishaq Zardari, along with his wife Naziran Begum, son Jameel Ahmed and daughter Shakeela Zardari.
Speaking to reporters, Ishaq Zardari alleged that his daughter had been married to their relative Ashfaq Zardari three months earlier but was beaten and expelled from her husband’s home just two days after the marriage.
He claimed his daughter had told the family that her husband was impotent and had subjected her to harassment and violence before forcing her out of the house.
According to him, local elders had attempted to resolve the matter but their decision was rejected by the other party. He alleged that Ashfaq Zardari demanded Rs700,000 in exchange for not sending the daughter back.
Ishaq Zardari further alleged that several relatives of Ashfaq Zardari, including individuals claiming to be employees of Bilawal House, had issued death threats and were attempting to forcibly take the girl away.
The family appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to take notice of the matter and provide protection, warning that they would stage an extreme protest if justice was not provided.
