KARACHI: A major burglary occurred at the residence of a pre-imam in Alamgir Heights, Sharafabad, Karachi, with thieves making off with gold and cash worth millions, officials said on Wednesday.
The pre-imam told authorities that unknown suspects broke into his home and stole valuables, including 48 tolas of gold jewelry and Rs90 million in cash that had been kept in trust. “The burglars entered my flat and took both cash and gold. Legal action should be taken to apprehend the culprits,” he said.
Police have registered a case and begun investigations, seeking leads to identify and arrest the suspects involved in the high-value theft. No arrests have been reported so far, and inquiries are ongoing in the surrounding area to trace the stolen items. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local police stations to help prevent similar incidents.
