DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A state-of-the-art computer laboratory has been established at Government Girls Degree College No. 1 in Dera Ismail Khan, with the facility housed in the newly constructed BS block to strengthen practical and technology-driven learning for students.
The lab has been equipped to meet modern academic and project requirements, featuring fully functional computer systems, networking devices and essential technical equipment. College officials say the initiative aims to create a professional learning environment that supports the development of technical skills, problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.
A key computer networking project has already been completed under the supervision of lecturer Maria Zeb, with overall oversight provided by the head of the computer science department, Tania Kareem. The project, officials said, was executed to a high professional standard.

The development was supported by the college principal, Aafiya Saadat, whose guidance helped make the facility fully operational. Motivational themes and IT-related artwork have been added to the lab to encourage creativity and innovation among students.
College authorities described the lab as a benchmark for technology integration and contemporary education, noting that it will provide hands-on experience while promoting teamwork and excellence in computer science. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to expanding modern educational facilities and improving technological literacy for female students in the region.
