ISLAMABAD: Heavy monsoon rains across various regions of Pakistan have led to the collapse of dilapidated roofs, claiming the lives of eight people and injuring many more The ongoing monsoon season has caused severe damage in different parts of the country. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, three people, including two women and a child, died when the roof of a house collapsed in the village of Kot Murtaza, Tank district. The incident was attributed to heavy monsoon rains that caused the roof of a three-room house to give way. Three injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and announced financial assistance for the affected family. Meanwhile, in the Lower Dir district’s Samar Bagh area, a young girl was killed when the veranda of her house collapsed. Family members and locals managed to retrieve her body from the rubble. In Sindh province, two people, including a woman, lost their lives in Jamshoro’s Thana Bula Khan tehsil due to the heavy rain. Various areas, such as Thana Ahmed Khan, Nooriabad, and others,
experienced varying degrees of rainfall, leading to severe flooding in the Kohe-e-Kirthar mountain region, resulting in flash floods in nearby streams. In the village of Sultan Barfat, a mosque was demolished by the floodwaters, while a mud house collapse in Ali Nawaz Barfat village resulted in the deaths of 65-year-old Ali Muhammad Barfat and his daughter-in-law. The devastating monsoon rains continue to wreak havoc, with authorities urging residents to take precautionary measures to avoid further casualties and damage.
