PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported a new case of monkeypox (Mpox), marking the fourth confirmed instance of the virus in the province. The latest case involves a 47-year-old man who had recently returned from abroad and was identified during routine screening at Peshawar Airport.
Upon detection, the patient was immediately transferred to the Police Services Hospital for treatment. In response to the growing number of cases, the provincial Health Department has implemented proactive measures to curb the spread of the virus. Isolation wards have been established in selected government hospitals across all districts, including Peshawar, to handle any potential cases and prevent further transmission. Arshad Roghani, Director of Public Health, underscored the department’s dedication to containing the virus and ensuring the safety of the public.
