KARACHI: Members of the MQM Pakistan Central Committee have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating conditions in Karachi, Hyderabad, and other Sindh cities following recent rains. They criticized the performance of so-called local representatives, stating that a brief downpour has exposed their ineffectiveness. According to the MQM committee, the claims made under the guise of “rain emergency” were washed away with a few minutes of rain, turning the city into a cesspool of dirty water.
The central committee members highlighted that the incompetence of the city administration has transformed what should have been a blessing into a severe burden. They further accused provincial ministers and the mayor of riding around in their multi-million rupee air-conditioned vehicles, showing off Karachi as if it were London or Paris. They argued that if the current mayor had focused more on effective work and less on photo sessions, the city might not be in such a dire state.
The MQM members also pointed out that the brief rainfall has turned the city into a swamp of contaminated water, making daily travel for residents an ordeal. They noted that citizens are reminiscing about the time when MQM was in charge and expressed hope that the day is not far when honest and dedicated local representatives will once again be serving the public.
