KARACHI: Efforts are being made to run the country by addressing the injustices rather than turning a blind eye to them, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized. The Prime Minister, Interior Minister, and Chief Justice are urged by Syed Mustafa Kamal to play their role in rescuing Karachi from both petty and organized criminals. Under the auspices of MQM Pakistan, the annual relief program was conducted, ensuring extensive distribution among the deserving.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Convener of the United National Movement Pakistan, stated that the purpose of today’s relief program is to instill in the authorities the belief that the care of the poor and helpless individuals is the responsibility of the government. Those who are assisting the deserving individuals with limited resources could have achieved better results if the government had effectively utilized all means, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui further stated. MQM-P leader also mentioned that over 50 youths have fallen victim to the brutality of heartless criminals so far.
The people who are supposed to ensure peace in the city are not from Karachi; modern and civilized societies worldwide have a system of local policing. We have always questioned why there is a police force for Peshawar in Peshawar but not for Karachi in Karachi? Over 50 individuals who sacrificed their lives were the sole breadwinners of their families; it is the responsibility of the state to take care of their families or reveal to us the one responsible for injustice, but the Sindh government has not raised any voice on this issue nor taken any serious actions, which is surprising.
Efforts are being made to run the country by addressing the injustices rather than turning a blind eye to them; resistance is being treated as betrayal. Karachi is also part of Pakistan, a city that sustains the country’s economy, if it collapses, how will the country function? MQM Pakistan will always continue to serve the people. Political struggle becomes meaningless when the house of public welfare remains empty. Whenever floods and earthquakes hit different cities of the country, MQM has always been at the forefront of serving humanity.
