KARACHI: A ceremony was held in the Qasba Ali Garh Town as part of the national tree-planting campaign initiated by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan. Senior MQM leaders, including Syed Mustafa Kamal, Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Ali Khurshidi, and MNA Hafeezuddin Advocate, addressed the gathering.

Syed Mustafa Kamal emphasized that the ongoing national tree-planting campaign by MQM has now reached Qasba Ali Garh. He urged individuals to plant at least eight trees in their lifetime, considering it both a charitable act and a way to combat rising temperatures. Kamal highlighted that the city’s ongoing benefits from development projects completed during MQM’s administration reflect the party’s enduring impact. Despite lacking local, provincial, and central government support, MQM representatives continue to work on development projects within their constituencies.

Kamal criticized the current administration for neglecting Karachi, despite the city contributing significantly to the national economy. He noted that the tax collected from Lalu Khet Market alone exceeds the total tax revenue of Lahore. He urged provincial authorities to end biases and favoritism and grant Karachi its due rights.

He expressed solidarity with Pakistan despite numerous grievances and injustices. Kamal called for the immediate recovery of missing Karachi youths and urged that they be provided their rightful opportunities. Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi praised MQM’s commitment to the tree-planting campaign, aiming to transform the city’s barren areas into lush green spaces. He noted that MQM’s efforts are supported by the people of Karachi, contributing to the beautification of the city.

MNA Hafeezuddin Advocate emphasized MQM’s dedication to serving Karachi’s residents, urging swift resolution of water and sewage issues across the city, including Orangi. He called on authorities under the Sindh government to address these pressing problems urgently. The event was well-attended by central committee members, MNAs, MPAs, town and union council officials, party workers, and a large number of dedicated citizens.
