KARACHI: At the invitation of MQM-P Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Sindh Assembly, Taha Ahmed Khan, the Japanese ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Akamatsu Shuichi, led a diplomatic delegation on a visit to Karachi’s Ghalib Library in Nazimabad.
The delegation included Ambassador Akamatsu’s wife, Mrs. Akamatsu Yumiko, and Ms. Julie Tamura, Second Secretary of the Political and Protocol Section of the Japanese Embassy. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the library’s history, its collection of books, literary heritage, and its role in promoting knowledge and literature.
Taha Ahmed Khan highlighted Karachi’s rich cultural and literary environment and expressed his hope for strengthened academic and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Japan. The Japanese delegation praised the library’s management and conveyed interest in further deepening cultural ties.
The visit was attended by the library administration and prominent local figures, underscoring the importance of fostering educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
