Dr. Khalid Maqbool urges that on this day, a pledge be made to make Pakistan strong enough that Palestinian children no longer need to resort to stone-throwing

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) organized a tree plantation drive at the Krimi Chowrangi in Surjani Town to honor the sacrifices of martyrs on Defense Day. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the presentation of a na’at. In his address, Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui highlighted that Pakistan is a divine gift and conveyed that the message of the day is the unity of the armed forces and the people of Pakistan against any adversary.

Dr. Maqbool stressed that despite Pakistan facing severe climatic and ideological threats, MQM-P is committed to addressing both challenges together. He also announced that the MQM-P has decided to name the Powerhouse Chowrangi in North Karachi after Major Kashif Khan Shaheed, who sacrificed his life for the country. He urged that on this day, a pledge be made to make Pakistan strong enough that Palestinian children no longer need to resort to stone-throwing.

Senior central leader and MNA Syed Mustafa Kamal asserted that Pakistan’s role as a security state and its position as a nuclear power are not digestible to enemy forces. He praised the sacrifices of the armed forces in keeping the country united, stating that any attempt to undermine the military is a direct attack on the nation’s stability. He pointed out MQM Pakistan’s efforts to counter foreign influences in the city and emphasized that the youth of Karachi have made significant sacrifices for national integrity.

Senior central leader and MNA Dr. Farooq Sattar reflected on the sacrifices made to establish the country, noting that on this day, the Pakistani armed forces had turned the enemy’s tanks away, highlighting the importance of unity between the people and the military. He condemned attempts to create rifts between the public and the military, asserting that MQM stands as a strong barrier against such conspiracies.

Senior leader Nasreen Jalil praised the Pakistani armed forces for prioritizing national defense over their own lives, sending a clear message that any threat to Pakistan will not be tolerated. The event was attended by senior leaders, including Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, members of the central committee, in-charges, and members of the COC, as well as national and provincial assembly members, Surjani Town UC officials, and a large number of participants from the public.
