KARACHI: In a show of solidarity with protesting professors and employees at Karachi University, members of the Sindh Assembly representing MQM Pakistan, Mueed Anwar, Engineer Osman, and Abdullah Sheikh, visited the university to express their support and address the ongoing concerns.

During their visit, the MQM-Pakistan representatives held constructive meetings with delegations from various faculty and staff associations, including the Karachi University Teachers’ Association, the Professors Lecturers Association, and the Employees Association. They listened attentively to the grievances put forth by the professors and employees and affirmed their full support for their demands.

Strongly condemning the stringent measures taken by the university administration, the MQM Pakistan members emphasized the urgent need for the administration to address the legitimate concerns of the professors and employees promptly. They underscored the importance of maintaining a conducive environment at Karachi University, one that prevents the necessity for resorting to protests while upholding the institution’s esteemed standards.

Furthermore, the members of the Sindh Assembly called for a constructive dialogue between the administration and the protesting faculty and staff to find amicable solutions to the issues at hand. Expressing optimism, they expressed hope that the administration would prioritize dialogue and swiftly resolve the ongoing issues to ensure the smooth functioning of Karachi University.

The visit by the MQM Pakistan representatives reflects their commitment to supporting the academic community and advocating for the rights and welfare of professors and employees at Karachi University, thereby contributing to the overall enhancement of the educational landscape in the region.
