KARACHI: Members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have raised serious concerns regarding the inadequate arrangements made by the Sindh government’s Ministry of Health for the MD Cat entrance examination. Despite charging students a substantial fee, assembly members highlighted a glaring lack of essential facilities, including insufficient seating and drinking water at the examination centers.
The MQM-P representatives pointed out that no provisions were made for parents accompanying female candidates, reflecting a troubling oversight in accommodating the needs of all participants. The examination was conducted at only two centers in Karachi, starkly contrasting with the eight centers available in Lahore, which resulted in long queues and significant waiting times for students.
Adding to the difficulties, severe traffic congestion around the examination centers exacerbated the challenges faced by candidates attempting to reach their venues. Assembly members criticized the Ministry of Health for what they described as a complete administrative failure in managing the examination process, calling for immediate action to rectify these shortcomings and ensure a smoother experience for future candidates.
The MQM-P’s call for accountability underscores the urgent need for the Sindh government to prioritize educational arrangements and uphold the standards expected in such critical examinations.
