ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, the National Assembly Secretariat has delisted two members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while reinstating the memberships of two Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmakers. According to a report by Express News, the Secretariat has removed PTI’s Rana Muhammad Faraz Noon and Chaudhry Bilal Ejaz from the assembly roster, effectively reducing PTI’s presence in the National Assembly.
Conversely, the memberships of PML-N representatives Abdul Rehman Khan Kanju and Izhar Qayyum have been restored, as they have been re-included in the party’s official list. This reinstatement follows a directive from the Supreme Court, as cited by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). With these changes, the number of PML-N seats in the National Assembly has increased from 108 to 110, while PTI’s representation has decreased from 84 to 82 seats. This alteration in the assembly’s composition marks a notable shift in the balance of power between the two parties and underscores the ongoing political maneuvering within Pakistan’s legislative framework.
