NAB Sukkur highlights anti-corruption efforts at seminar

SUKKUR: Director General NAB Sukkur Fayyaz Ahmed Qureshi said in 10 years from 70 to 80 billion rupees recovery and has been handed over to Sindh government.  Director General NAB Sukkur Fayyaz Ahmed Qureshi, while addressing the anti-corruption awareness seminar, organized in the auditorium of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development Khairpur said that NAB Sukkur has been working on other issues including corruption for 8 to 10 years.

DG NAB Sukkur said in 10 years from 70 to 80 billion rupees recovery and has been handed over to Sindh government. He said that more than 500 inquiries have been made with the joint support of the local government and the Accountant General of Sindh and 70 percent of the punishment mechanism against the people involved in corruption has been implemented by NAB. He said that Hundreds of acres of land of the forest department have been retrieved and handed over to the forest department and tree planting has also been done on these areas so that the forests can return to their original condition.

The NAB official said that in 2006, with the support of the Sindh government, the online system has also been made effective by starting the work on salaries, pensions and other benefits of various government departments. He informed the students including teachers and others that they have to build confidence in themselves first. On this occasion, the registrar of the university, Mir Sajjad Hussain Talpur, Director NAB Sukkur Imran Ali Mangrio, Professor Hussain Bakhsh Mari, Professor Aftab Ahmed Soomro, Professor Abdul Shakur Sheikh, Nazar Abbas Lashari, Deputy Director Information Syed Sajid Hussain Shah and others were present.
