TEL AVIV: Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, has said that the safety of Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s new supreme leader, and the newly appointed head of Hezbollah cannot be guaranteed amid the escalating regional conflict.
Speaking about the growing tensions in the Middle East, Netanyahu suggested that circumstances could arise that might lead to a change of government in Iran. However, he stressed that any such political change would ultimately depend on the Iranian people themselves and whether they choose to take to the streets in protest.
His remarks come as hostilities continue to intensify across the region, with rising military exchanges and sharp political warnings between regional powers, fuelling fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East.
