KARACHI: At the outset, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our esteemed guests for accepting our invitation and honoring tonight’s reception. Your presence here underscores our shared commitment to strengthening the commercial ties between our nations.
It is with great optimism that I share the news of Iran’s new foreign policy direction under President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkiyan. His administration has prioritized enhancing multidimensional relations with neighboring countries, and Pakistan, as our brotherly and friendly neighbor, occupies a crucial place in this vision. The new ministerial cabinet reflects this commitment to fostering stronger ties with Pakistan, recognizing the deep historical and cultural bonds that unite our peoples.
Despite the numerous challenges and obstacles that both our nations face, our governments have managed to cultivate an outstanding political relationship, characterized by self-sufficiency, wise foreign policy, and unwavering self-confidence. These qualities serve as the foundation for the thriving partnership we enjoy today. The Islamic Republic of Iran, with its strategic geographical position, is uniquely positioned as a hub for vital logistical corridors, boasting vast resources in manpower, natural gas, crude oil, and tourism attractions.
With 15 neighboring countries, Iran is poised to play a pivotal role in regional cooperation, and we are eager to collaborate with our neighbors to unlock these opportunities. The exchange of business delegations and the signing of strategic agreements between our nations will pave the way for mutual growth and prosperity. During the recent visit of our late President Ayatollah Raeisi to Pakistan, both governments committed to increasing bilateral trade to $10 billion within a five-year plan.
This ambitious goal, born out of that historic visit, now requires our collective effort to bring it to fruition. The presence of a strong business delegation from TAPICO, a leading conglomerate of 100 companies specializing in downstream oil and gas, petrochemical refineries, energy, and related industries, presents an excellent opportunity for Pakistani traders. This delegation embodies the potential for creating new business opportunities and forging stronger economic ties between our countries.
In conclusion, as the representative and envoy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and Sindh, Consul General reaffirmed that his commitment to utilizing all available resources to strengthen economic connections. He extended his sincere thanks to the government of Pakistan, the state of Sindh, and the business community for their unwavering support in enhancing comprehensive relations.
