DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Officials stress merit, transparency and support for educators as province seeks to strengthen public education.
A formal ceremony was held at the office of the deputy commissioner in Dera Ismail Khan to honour newly recruited teachers, with senior officials emphasising merit-based appointments and the responsibility of educators to shape future generations.
The event was presided over by the commissioner of the Dera Ismail Khan division, Dawoodi Khan, and attended by the deputy commissioner Abdul Nasir, senior district administration officers, the district education officers for male and female schools, and representatives from the accounts office. The newly appointed teachers were formally welcomed.
Addressing the gathering, the commissioner conveyed a message from the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying the teachers had been selected through a rigorous, transparent and merit-driven process. He urged them to uphold those standards in their professional lives and to serve with commitment, integrity and dedication.
He also directed education department officials to ensure that all necessary facilities were provided so the new teachers could focus fully on their duties. The district accounts officer was instructed to resolve salary-related matters on a priority basis.
Participants at the ceremony expressed hope that the newly appointed teachers would carry out their responsibilities effectively and contribute to improving the overall standard of education in the district.
