MEHAR: The NJV organization hosted an Iftar party at High School No.1 Shamsuddin Bulbul, using the occasion to review its activities in Mehar Taluka over the past year and inform citizens about its annual performance.

The event was attended by NJV officials Nazir Ahmed Tunio and Project Manager Murtaza Aamir, PPP District Dadu General Secretary and MPA Fayyaz Ali Butt, PPP leader Imtiaz Pasha Butt, Assistant Commissioner Mehar Ghulam Fatima Gholo, Headmaster Ashraf Ali Chandio, DEO Khadija Mumtaz Panhwar, District Information Secretary Mir Saddam Balhro, along with political, social, and business personalities, traders, journalists, officials of various institutions, and a large number of citizens.

NJV officials said that significant improvements have been made in backward schools within just one year through dedicated efforts. They highlighted that, with support from the Sindh Government and MPA Fayyaz Ali Butt, several schools in Mehar Taluka are now functioning under NJV supervision, with ongoing repair and renovation work. Thousands of children are being provided quality education through these efforts.
Officials also noted that more than 40 percent of children in Sindh remain out of school, and bringing them into classrooms requires parental cooperation. Around 1,000 students from Mehar progress to college education after intermediate, but nearly 80 percent cannot continue higher studies due to poverty and lack of facilities.
The organization is also providing vocational skills training and assessing children according to their abilities and interests. To support students who come to school without meals at home, NJV has begun providing food. Schools have also been equipped with playgrounds, sports equipment, libraries, and other educational facilities to enhance learning and development.
NJV officials emphasized that real improvement in Mehar’s schools requires full cooperation from residents and community members to secure a better future for children.
Addressing the ceremony, MPA and PPP District Dadu General Secretary Fayyaz Ali Butt praised the people of Mehar for their unity during difficult times, including the 2010 and 2020 floods. He said citizens must continue supporting schools and educational institutions. He expressed gratitude to PPP Chairman, the Chief Minister of Sindh, the Provincial Education Minister, and committee members for their support, which has helped advance education in Mehar.
He added, “The boat of truth may shake but it never sinks,” and urged leaders of all political parties to support schools, stressing that institutions belong to the entire community, not just one party.
During the ceremony, NJV presented a projector presentation highlighting its school activities. Special stories were shared about students Ali Chandio from village Kamb and Azhar Ali from village Ali Murad Hisbani, who is physically disabled with one leg.
