KARACHI: The School Management Board of NJV Higher Secondary School hosted its annual iftar dinner in Karachi, bringing together educators, donors and students for an evening that reflected both gratitude and ambition for the future of public education in Sindh.
The gathering took place on the historic campus of the school, one of the city’s oldest educational institutions, where supporters and faculty members assembled to mark the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan. The event drew a diverse audience, including philanthropists, teachers and young learners who have become part of the institution’s ongoing revival and reform.

A notable presence at the dinner was Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, the founder of Akhuwat. His participation lent the evening a sense of purpose and reflection. Addressing the gathering, Saqib spoke about the importance of compassion and collective responsibility in building a stronger society. He emphasized that education remains one of the most powerful tools for social mobility and national progress.
During his remarks, he reflected on how communities can transform lives when they invest in knowledge and opportunity. He told the audience that accessible and quality education must remain a central priority if Pakistan hopes to empower its young population. His message resonated strongly with the students present, many of whom listened attentively as he described how small acts of generosity can create lasting social change.
The evening also created an opportunity for donors and supporters to meet the students whose education they help sustain. Conversations unfolded across the courtyard as students shared their academic ambitions and spoke about the opportunities they had found at the school. Teachers and administrators said these exchanges reinforced the direct impact of philanthropic support on young lives.

Members of the School Management Board expressed gratitude to those who had stood by the institution over the years. They noted that the steady progress of the school had been made possible through sustained trust and cooperation between educators, philanthropists and the wider community.
As the gathering concluded with prayers and the breaking of the fast, organisers said the institution would continue to strengthen its mission. They reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that every student at NJV receives the support and education needed to pursue a brighter future.
