    Officials discuss local issues, plan sports festival for youth

    KALAT: Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Durrani met a delegation of local officials, political representatives and community figures in Kalat to discuss the area’s pressing problems and explore ways to promote sports for young people.

    Those who attended included Assistant Commissioner Khaliqabad Dr Ali Gul Imrani, PPHI district manager Mujeeb Baloch, Deputy Director of Agriculture Shakeel Zehri, Balochistan National Party district president Mir Qadir Bakhsh Mengal, municipal councillor Ahmed Nawaz Baloch, councillor Shikari Amir Bakhsh, DFA Kalat general secretary Musaddiq Sadiq, Tennis Ball Cricket Association president Abdul Waheed Mengal, Balochistan Awami Party leader Mir Dhani Bakhsh Lehri, Comrade Salam Langove, Malik Yaseen Shahwani, Saeed Ahmed Shahwani and others.

    The meeting focused on longstanding local challenges, the need for timely solutions and proposals to expand sporting activities to keep young people engaged in positive pursuits. He said the district administration was doing all it could to resolve public issues and urged community elders to work closely with local authorities.

    Deputy Commissioner Durrani added that promoting sports was essential to steer young people away from negative influences. He announced that consultations would be held with DFA Kalat and the cricket association to organize a Grand Sports Festival, with football and cricket tournaments planned as key attractions.
