DADU: The district administration, in coordination with the Forest Department, launched a major operation on Saturday to remove illegal encroachments from government forest land, officials said. The initiative was undertaken under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Syed Murtaza Shah.
During the first phase, authorities identified 90 individuals allegedly occupying around 2,060 acres of forest land without permission. Six cases were registered against the accused under Sections 26 and 63 of the Forest Act, 1927, at police stations in Radhan, Shah Panjo Sultan, Bhind Mari, Nayo Goth, and Rajo Dero, with Forest Department officials acting as complainants.
Deputy Commissioner Shah emphasised that recovering government forest land from illegal occupation remained a top priority for the district administration. SSP Dadu Amir Saud Magsi pledged full support to the Forest Department, assuring that all legal measures would be enforced to ensure the operation’s success, with police actively assisting in the removal of illegal settlements.
