TANDO ALLAHYAR: An unidentified man assaulted a woman and fled with valuables in Tando Allahyar, an incident that has triggered public anger after CCTV footage circulated widely on social media.
The attack took place on a broad street in the Memon neighborhood, where the woman was walking along the road. According to police, the suspect snatched valuables from a shopping bag beside her and physically assaulted her before escaping.
CCTV footage of the incident later went viral, prompting concern and fear among women in the area. Following the circulation of the video, social organizations and police took notice and began efforts to trace the suspect using surveillance footage.
The provincial minister for the women development department, Shahina Sher Ali, took formal notice of the incident and directed that a case be registered against the suspect at A Section police station.
Police said attempts were ongoing to identify and arrest the accused, but no arrest had been made at the time of reporting. Citizens and social organizations have criticized the lack of progress and called for the immediate arrest of the suspect, demanding stronger measures to ensure women’s safety in public spaces.
