SKRAND: More than 300 sheep and goats died after a trailer carrying cattle overturned near the Qazi Ahmed toll plaza when it was stopped suddenly by the Motorway Police Sector Skrand for a disqualification challan, according to police officials.
Police said the cattle-laden trailer lost control and overturned at the toll plaza, resulting in the deaths of around 300 goats and sheep. Five people were seriously injured in the accident.

According to the Motorway Police, the injured were immediately shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Qazi Ahmed, where they were provided medical treatment.
Police said the trailer was travelling from Hyderabad to Punjab when the accident occurred. Traffic flow in the area remained disrupted for some time following the incident.
Cattle traders said they had suffered losses running into crores of rupees and held the Motorway Police responsible for the accident.
