PESHAWAR: Rescue teams in Peshawar have successfully evacuated more than 3,000 people stranded during recent heavy snowfall through timely and coordinated operations.
Officials reported that over the past three days, 3,010 individuals were safely rescued, and 942 vehicles stuck in snow were removed, restoring traffic flow in the affected areas. Hundreds of people also received immediate medical assistance on site.
Rescue teams cleared 60 major roads and highways using heavy machinery, with 535 personnel and 190 vehicles participating in the large-scale operation. Authorities confirmed that the teams remained active around the clock to ensure the safety of residents and travellers in snow-affected areas.
