ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, met with the governor for small and medium enterprises (SME) in Saudi Arabia to bolster bilateral cooperation in the SME sector. This meeting took place during Hussain’s visit to Saudi Arabia for the United Nations Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF), held from October 23 to 24 in Riyadh. The forum serves as a platform for international delegates to converge and discuss vital topics surrounding industrial growth and sustainable practices.
During the discussions, Minister Hussain and the Saudi SME governor explored various areas of mutual interest, with a commitment to enhancing cooperation among small and medium enterprises. A statement from Pakistan’s ministry underscored the intent to increase collaborative efforts and facilitate more visits by business professionals between the two nations. Pakistan has been actively seeking to strengthen its economic ties with Saudi Arabia, and the recent interactions signal a promising step forward.
Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to expedite a substantial $5 billion investment package for Pakistan, highlighting the Kingdom’s intent to play a pivotal role in the country’s economic landscape. The discussions at the forum reflect a growing partnership that not only aims to enhance bilateral trade but also to promote sustainable industrial practices, ultimately contributing to the economic development of both nations.
