ISLAMABAD: During the 50th Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi and Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain, Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, held a significant meeting to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
In their discussions, Foreign Secretary Qazi emphasized the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with Bangladesh, describing it as “brotherly” and highlighting the deep-rooted goodwill shared between the two nations. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advancing bilateral engagement and fostering dialogue to enhance cooperation.
Advisor Hossain provided an update on the current political landscape in Bangladesh. This briefing was crucial for understanding the evolving situation in the country and for aligning the two nations’ foreign policies. Foreign Secretary Qazi extended his best wishes for the continued peace, harmony, and prosperity of Bangladesh’s people, reflecting Pakistan’s support for its neighbor’s stability and progress.
Both officials agreed on the necessity of maintaining open channels of communication and continuing engagement on issues of mutual interest. The meeting underscored the ongoing commitment of both countries to strengthen their relationship and work collaboratively on regional and international matters.
