RAWALPINDI: On Monday, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, extended a warm welcome to General Li Qiaoming, Commander of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Ground Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. This visit marks a significant milestone in the strengthening of military collaboration between Pakistan and China, underscoring the robust strategic partnership between the two nations.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting between the two military leaders provided a crucial platform for in-depth discussions on various critical issues. Topics of mutual interest included regional security, advancements in military training, and strategies to further enhance bilateral defense cooperation. These discussions are part of broader efforts to fortify military ties and address shared challenges within the region.

General Munir expressed his appreciation to General Li Qiaoming for his visit, highlighting the importance Pakistan places on its close and friendly relations with China. He underscored the longstanding partnership between the two countries and stressed the need for continued cooperation to bolster defense capabilities and ensure regional stability. The visit also featured a formal ceremony, where General Li Qiaoming was honored with a guard of honor presented by a well-prepared detachment of the Pakistan Army.
In a symbolic and respectful gesture, General Li laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, a memorial dedicated to Pakistan’s martyrs, paying tribute to their sacrifices. This high-level engagement reflects the ongoing commitment of both nations to nurturing their strategic partnership.
